This is the "Engine" portion of the
program, where all the scanning for shares takes
place. On the left of the screen is a list of "Sniffers",
which are mini-programs that are sniffing IP Addresses
for shares. The more sniffers you load, the faster
you can scan! |

The is the "Netblock" portion of the
program. It allows you to search for valid blocks
of IP Addresses to scan. You can enter keywords,
names, locations, etc. Once you have found some
IP Ranges, or Netblocks, you can add them to the
"Engine" section to start scanning them! |

This is the "Shares" section of the
program. Any time shares are found they are added
to this list. You can open the remote computers
in windows explorer by clicking the Browse button,
or search the remote computers for files by clicking
the search button. |

This is the "Options" section of the
program. Here you can set how many sniffers you
want to load, as well as specify keywords for the
types of shares you want to find. |

What
sets uCshares apart from the competition? |
As far as
competition goes, there isn't any! However, let's just consider
Kazaa and Morpheus to be the competition, since they are
the most similar.
- Functionality: P2P File Sharing
software like Kazaa and Morpheus only let you download
files that were specifically shared for that program.
This software lets you view any voluntarilly shared
file on a remote system.
- Options: Whether you are looking
for music, movies, photos, documents, games or programs,
this software can handle any file type. You can copy
any voluntarily shared file from a remote computer just
like it was on a shared drive!
- Scalability: Because the software
uses Windows Explorer to view shares, it will be automatically
updated whenever you upgrade your operating system!
- Perfomance: We have extensively
tested this software to make sure it can run full-speed
for days at a time. The software scans incredibly fast
by ignoring IP Addresses with no computers attached
to them.
Wait a minute, is this hacking?!
- Is this hacking? No. This software will only find files that have been voluntarily shared. These could be files that were shared for a Peer-2-Peer File Sharing program like Kazaa, or files that were added to the "Guest" account for remote computers. It will not allow you access files that the administrator has not specifically chosen to be shared.
- Does this software make the files available? No. This software only finds files that are already available. They were made available by the windows operating system, not by this software. In addition, it does not share any of your files with other computers.
- Is this software required for browing files on remote computers? No, the acutal browsing of files is done using Microsoft's Windows Explorer. This software just finds shares for you to browse.
